I think I'll start on Monday.
Monday seems incredibly popular.
Does it know you've volunteered it again?
I just feel more motivated at the beginning of the week.
Interesting.
How many Mondays has this strategy met so far?
...Quite a few.
And how many of them quietly became Tuesdays?
You're making a point, aren't you?
Only a small one.
We often postpone habits because we're waiting for the perfect emotional weather.
Motivated.
Energetic.
Inspired.
Unfortunately...
Habits aren't built by emotions.
They're built by appointments.
So I should force myself?
No.
Force creates resistance.
Lower the entry fee instead.
Don't promise an hour.
Promise five minutes.
Don't promise a marathon.
Promise your shoes.
Momentum has surprisingly low standards.
It just wants you to begin.
What if I miss a day?
Then you've missed a day.
Not your identity.
Don't turn one missed habit into a week-long autobiography.
Continue.
That's what consistent people do.
Not perfectly.
Repeatedly.
So today is good enough?
Today has always been the only day that successfully creates tomorrow.
